Creating my own sewing patterns has always been in the back of my mind for over a decade but I focused more on making my own designs and selling the physical products at craft shows.

Last year I decided that doing craft shows was no longer working out for me but I did not want to give up my involvement with the crafting world so I decided I would turn my designs into sewing patterns.

Since I wasn’t focused on making items for craft shows I had more time to work on new designs so I decided to have some fun and get creative. This Fish Coin Purse is just one of several fun coin purse patterns I have been working on so stay tuned for more. I am also working on some small bag and purse patterns as well as releasing my old designs into full sewing patterns!

This pattern is a great scrap buster. It takes very little fabric and interfacing. It does require a zipper but the installation is easy and this pattern is perfect for anyone looking to practice working with zippers.

The pattern recommends sewing on a small bead for the eye but also points out the option to skip this step and use paint after the pattern is completed.

The pattern also calls for a D-ring so you can hang your coin purse from a bag but you could easily skip this step or use a split key ring or clip instead.

The pattern also calls for two different colors of fabric. Color A for the Head, Fin, and Tail and Color B for the body but you do not need to limit yourself to just two colors! The sky’s the limit, make it your own!

So are you ready to dive in? Catch your own Fish Coin Purse sewing pattern today!

Happy Sewing!
